Android Changelog 2023/24

Here’s a list of updates and bug fixes to the Trakt Android app in 2023/24. If you’d like to support Trakt, please consider signing up for VIP. VIP members get early beta builds and can test new features before anyone else.

BUGS

• Fixed an issue when trying to go ‘back’ from the main screen of the app which would display a blank screen and require another ‘back’ action.

• Added an option to view, via the website, Watched Progress for Watchlists and Personal Lists.
• The List type option is now stored across sessions, eg. When choosing Liked lists.
• Added an option via the Settings screen to set Up Next to only display the Show image rather than episode images.
• Added support for Up Next to optionally require you to manually refresh to view the next episode to match the web and iOS.

BUGS

• Fixed a potential issue when authentication requires a refresh.
• Fixed an issue where some users may have had Shows they’d hidden still be visible in Up Next.
• Fixed an issue where the long press options were not working on Up Next items.

• Up Next is now processed locally and therefore should update a lot quicker. The first sync may take a while to load depending on how many shows it has to load and process.

• Fixed an issue causing items with lowercase as first letters not being sorted properly.

• Attempting to log in should now always require you to enter your details rather than just assuming you want to log in to the same account.
• Some changes to improve error messages when failing to log in.

• Fixed an issue causing the Profile’s refresh control to not finish in certain cases.
• Fixed a UI layout issue in the Profile’s Progress section when Season names were very long.

• Added support for the Link privacy option of Personal Lists including being able to share those links via the share button on the List Items screens.
• Added a count of cast/crew credits to each section in the Person Summary screen.

• Added a button to the Calendar screen to recenter back to the last date that was loaded. By default that date is ‘Today’ when loading the screen until using the ‘Jump’ button.
• Added links in Summary screens from the Country/Language/Genres details to open Popular Movies/TV Shows with filters based on the selected link, for VIPs to use, similar to the website.

BUGS

• Fixed an issue causing the app to crash when trying to load Ratings or Collections in the Profile screen when the user has a lot of ratings or collected items.
• Fixed an inconsistency with episode air dates in the Episode section of the Season Summary screen.
• Fixed an issue with History additions showing a spinner for longer than necessary.
